7 Quick Apply Full-time 1 day ago Full Job Description We are seeking a 1st Shift Rail Car Cleaners/Pressure Washing & Assembler to join our team! The ideal candidate would remove components such as hatch covers, outlet gates, and unloading system components including piping, valves, and aerator assemblies from rail cars.
Candidates must be able to clean rail cars and components using a 5000psi pressure washer and/or 2 fire hose.
Qualifications:
A Rail car cleaner's duties require physical stamina and attention to detail.
Other essential skills include:
Mechanical aptitude - The ability to comply with instructions in written, oral, and schedule forms is essential.
Ability to disassemble rail car components.
Ability to inspect equipment for damaged or worn components and cleanliness.
Ability to reassemble rail car components.
Ability to use hand tools including pneumatic and electric tools such as impact wrenches, sanders, drills, and grinders.
Physical Fitness - Able to work on, under, and inside of rail cars.
Able to lift weights up to 50lbs alone and up to 100lbs as a team lifts.
Able to perform work off ladders.
Able to operate pressure washers up to 5000psi for extended periods of time.
This position may be required you to bend and or stoop, work in positions on your knees, stand or walk on uneven ground and ascend and descend rail cars or ladders, all of which require stamina and endurance.
Able to work in confined spaces and at heights up to 16ft.
Must be able to work off of ladders.
Compliance with safety procedures - as part of an organization's safety program, cleaners are expected to complete the required training program and pass safety examinations and all required qualification and certification assessments.
Interpersonal skills - the ability to clearly, professionally, and effectively communicate with their supervisor and coworkers.
The ability to work as a team is necessary for success.
Flexibility - cleaners may be required to work overtime to meet the production needs of our customers.
At times they may be asked to cross-train, work in other areas, or train new employees.
Starting Wage is $20.
